After initially refusing to create a mate for the Monster, doctor Frankenstein reconsiders and, forced by the circumstances (his wife Elizabeth is kidnapped by the Monster and Dr. Septimius Pretorius, one of his former mentors) Dr. Frankenstein agrees to create a partner for the Monster. This is the plot of the first sequel of Frankenstein, released in 1931.
